On January 13, 2018, a video was uploaded to a Facebook account under the name Craig Carlson of a Wichita Police Officer is seen on assaulting a female teenage referee. In the video you can see the officer shove the teenager while stating, “get out of my way” as he leaves the court with a player.
According to the caption on the video,
“This happened today in Augusta Ks… this guy is a Wichita PD officer, who assaulted a 17yr old basketball official during a 5/6th grade game. This is exactly why there is a shortage of officials in sports. This is unacceptable and should be seen and shared.”
Officer Charley Davidson said on Tuesday, that the captain is on paid administrative leave pending a police investigation and internal review.
